Marine Lcpl. Matthew P. Pathenos
Marine Lcpl. Matthew P. Pathenos graduated from Parkway South High School early in 2003 to enlist in the Marines.
He became a radio man in communications with the 3rd Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment, and 4th Marine Division.
Before deploying to Iraq he was attached to the 1st Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, infantry unit. He was an accomplished pilot and golfer, playing throughout high school.
In September 2006 he was sent to Iraq where he was killed in action in Fallajah on February 7, 2007.
